“Is that why you haven’t texted her? Because you thought she knew?” Nathan asked.

I rolled my eyes. “Her text made it seem like she did. I wasn’t going to test my luck. Especially when she called out my name.”

“Woah…” Daniel blinked twice, tilting his head as he looked at me. A small smile came to his lips. “You like her.”

No. That was impossible. I couldn’t like Bunny, at least not like that. Attracted, yeah. Definitely. Who wouldn’t be? But I barely knew her. “I’m still trying to get over Gina.”

“But your dick is set on a Bunny, who wants to hop all over it,” Nathan announced.

“It’s not gonna happen,” I assured him.

Nathan laughed. “Yeah, I said the same thing too, and ended up fucking my boss’s daughter.”

“If this were a movie,” Daniel began, “you’d more than likely have sex with her within the next few days.”

“I repeat.” I drank the rest of my whiskey and placed the glass down. “I don’t have feelings for Bunny. We’re not going to have sex or get closer than we already are. Now can we finish getting the club ready for tonight?”

“I’ll cut you a deal, Cole.” Nathan grinned, leaning against the counter. “You stay tonight, help Daniel out, and I won’t mention this whole thing with Bunny anymore.”

“Don’t make promises you can’t keep.” I glared at him. There was no way in hell he’d be able to do that. Nathan was the kind of guy who enjoyed stirring the pot. He’d never be able to keep this deal.

“Let me rephrase.” Nathan chuckled. “I won’t mention it so long as you don’t bring it up in conversation.” He held out his hand to me and after a long hard look at him, I shook it.

“That doesn’t mean Daniel can’t bring it up.” Nathan pulled his hand away, having the last laugh.

Daniel was the least of my problems. I looked over at him just as he tossed a rag in my direction. I caught it just in time.

“Bartender duty.” Daniel smiled.

That was fine with me. It meant I’d be distracted from Nathan and more importantly, any thoughts involving Bunny.
